My wife and I had our kitchen and family room renovated by FOCIL Construction. We are very satisfied with the results and have gotten glowing reviews from family and friends who have seen the renovation. The quality of the work and the classy open design are a reflection of the attention to detail and the aesthetic balance that Joseph Focil (owner of the company) and his design team bring to each remodeling project. His design team homed-in on our kitchen and family room design based on our wish list of features and color schemes plus from pictures we collected out of magazines. We developed a sense of trust in the FOCIL team early in the project. The renovation project appeared overwhelming so we relied on them to guide us through the process. Choosing a cabinet style and function (including the type of wood and color), flooring, lighting options, and stone countertops were easier to do in the FOCIL showroom where ample examples of each allowed us to feel and test these items.
We like the quality of the work, the attention to detail, and the positive attitude Joseph brought to the entire project (especially when we encountered problems). The FOCIL team encouraged us to incorporate new technologies and materials into our new kitchen and family room; things we would never have considered. After we encountered a long delay due to an inspection issue, Joseph had his work crew put in extra hours and even worked on the weekends to finish the project 2 days ahead of the scheduled end date. We like working with the FOCIL team, appreciate the experience they bring to each project, and admire the fabulous designs they produce. We plan to have them renovate the rest of our 1st floor rooms to maintain consistency in the style and colors of the first phase of remodeling.
We were referred to FOCIL Construction by my wife’s boss who had glowing praises about the quality of the work and the fabulous design of her remodeled home. After interviewing another design/construction company, we decided to meet with FOCIL. They offered to do a conceptual computer rendering of our remodeling project for a nominal cost. If we liked it, we could continue to the next step and order the cabinets through their company and start on the construction phase. If we wanted to go with an outside contractor, we could purchase the design for an additional moderate cost and go that route. Because we established a positive working relationship with the FOCIL team early in the game, we trusted their sense of style and their ability to make our wish list of design features come to life. After they produced a stunning computer rendering of the design, we decided to work with them and embark on the project.
Early in the process, I did my due diligence and checked the background of FOCIL Construction to see if there were any complaints. I found none. What I did learn came from the subcontractors who worked for FOCIL. They confided in me that Joseph pays his subcontractors promptly which makes for good working relationships. It was good to know that he treats his workers fairly. They spoke of his high standards to produce quality work and how he will have them re-do some construction work if it just didn’t look right.
Finding a good general contractor you can trust can be difficult. I hope my review of FOCIL Construction helps you make an informed decision. See the attached pictures to view the fabulous kitchen and family room FOCIL Construction created for us.
