Our family has used Focil Construction twice in the last two years. We are very happy with the final product and encourage you to consider them for your remodel needs!
We first remodeled two bathrooms in 2024 and then just completed an additional two bathrooms last week. These were not basic remodels as we had very specific wants and needs- doorways were widened, walls moved, they needed to cut into the cross tension cables embedded in our cement floor to allow for needed shower work, etc. All work was carefully completed and all stages were permitted by our city.
Pep and his team were very responsive to any concerns we had (a normal part of construction) and they really cared about our projects!
Give them a call!

Four bathrooms over two projects, 2026
My wife and I had our kitchen and family room renovated by FOCIL Construction. We are very satisfied with the results and have gotten glowing reviews from family and friends who have seen the renovation. The quality of the work and the classy open design are a reflection of the attention to detail and the aesthetic balance that Joseph Focil (owner of the company) and his design team bring to each remodeling project. His design team homed-in on our kitchen and family room design based on our wish list of features and color schemes plus from pictures we collected out of magazines. We developed a sense of trust in the FOCIL team early in the project. The renovation project appeared overwhelming so we relied on them to guide us through the process. Choosing a cabinet style and function (including the type of wood and color), flooring, lighting options, and stone countertops were easier to do in the FOCIL showroom where ample examples of each allowed us to feel and test these items.
We like the quality of the work, the attention to detail, and the positive attitude Joseph brought to the entire project (especially when we encountered problems). The FOCIL team encouraged us to incorporate new technologies and materials into our new kitchen and family room; things we would never have considered. After we encountered a long delay due to an inspection issue, Joseph had his work crew put in extra hours and even worked on the weekends to finish the project 2 days ahead of the scheduled end date. We like working with the FOCIL team, appreciate the experience they bring to each project, and admire the fabulous designs they produce. We plan to have them renovate the rest of our 1st floor rooms to maintain consistency in the style and colors of the first phase of remodeling.
We were referred to FOCIL Construction by my wife’s boss who had glowing praises about the quality of the work and the fabulous design of her remodeled home. After interviewing another design/construction company, we decided to meet with FOCIL. They offered to do a conceptual computer rendering of our remodeling project for a nominal cost. If we liked it, we could continue to the next step and order the cabinets through their company and start on the construction phase. If we wanted to go with an outside contractor, we could purchase the design for an additional moderate cost and go that route. Because we established a positive working relationship with the FOCIL team early in the game, we trusted their sense of style and their ability to make our wish list of design features come to life. After they produced a stunning computer rendering of the design, we decided to work with them and embark on the project.
Early in the process, I did my due diligence and checked the background of FOCIL Construction to see if there were any complaints. I found none. What I did learn came from the subcontractors who worked for FOCIL. They confided in me that Joseph pays his subcontractors promptly which makes for good working relationships. It was good to know that he treats his workers fairly. They spoke of his high standards to produce quality work and how he will have them re-do some construction work if it just didn’t look right.
Finding a good general contractor you can trust can be difficult. I hope my review of FOCIL Construction helps you make an informed decision. See the attached pictures to view the fabulous kitchen and family room FOCIL Construction created for us.

Full home remodel, 2026
We wanted a major remodel of our kitchen/living area and we were anticipating a stressful process, so we wanted a contractor that offered a one stop full service remodel experience. Focil Construction offers just that. From design to final walk through, the Focil team coordinated everything. They addressed our concerns professionally and offered great suggestions ( under cabinet lighting!) Their work is quality and if there is any concern they work to make it right. It's apparent they take pride in their work. We ended up adding more work to the project and changing our minds about a couple of things and they were very professional and accommodating. We're anticipating more work to be done in the future and we will trust Focil Construction with it. Thank you Focil team, we love our new kitchen !

Custom bar and bathroom remodel, 2026
We recently completed a kitchen and home remodel with Focil Construction, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. Joseph and Catalina were an absolute pleasure to work with. As a family-run, local business, they brought a personal touch and level of care that really stood out. They listened closely to our vision, offered smart, creative suggestions (always go with quartzite!), and helped guide us through every decision with confidence.
Their attention to detail was outstanding, and their communication throughout the project was clear and consistent. One thing that truly impressed us—they showed up every single day to the job site. That kind of dedication gave us so much peace of mind and ensured nothing fell through the cracks.
On top of that, their pricing was very competitive with other contractors we considered, but choosing them as a full-service design and build firm made all the difference. Having everything handled under one roof kept the process smooth, efficient, and stress-free.
If you're planning a remodel, we can’t recommend Focil Construction enough. Joseph and Catalina are professional, reliable, and genuinely committed to delivering beautiful, high-quality work. We absolutely love our new space and are so glad we chose to work with them.

Kitchen and home remodel, 2025
Joseph and Team were amazing to work with. They are a full service design and construction company and we used every bit of their services. We were doing a full remodel of our downstairs which includes structural work and a total redesign of how we use and live in the space. We needed to gain storage and modernize the layout. He completed the job before the anticipated date even though we added to the scope of work. He also stayed within budget and the quoted amounts. We didn't always know exactly what we wanted and the team and designs (Stephanie Melendez designed the entire layout and provided great insight into what to purchase to keep to the design. She was extremely patient, knowledgeable, and had a great sense of what we needed.) were on point. All interactions were professional and thoughtful. Any issue that arose were quickly and efficiently dealt with and we were provided quality work. Oren the electrician performed quality work and provided insight for us to get the most out of our lighting and automate using the Lutron system. Catalina and the in-house fabrication team designed and built a great fireplace with surrounding cabinetry. We have received many compliments and would not hesitate to refer and use the Focil Team in the future.

Downstairs and kitchen remodel, 2023
Focil Construction - Quality, Integrity, Capability, Consistency - After interviewing several contractors to do the remodel of our kitchen/family room, we chose Focil Construction. Unfortunately, we had little knowledge of design, style or even material choices, however, we learned that we had the full services of the Focil staff at our disposal. The first step was working with Ms. Stephanie, Interior Designer. We were afforded answers to our daily questions, always helpfully and as soon as we asked by whoever we asked.
The Focil Company consists of knowledgeable craftsmen and women, each with many years of experience. On time, professional, well dressed who did not stop until the job was done. Joseph checked daily on each part of the project; he made sure all details were done to his precise specification. The reoccurring words from family and friends who visit our completed remodel are: "I am so jealous; it is absolutely beautiful." It was a pleasure to work with Joseph and Catalina.

Kitchen and family room remodel, November 2022
Focil Construction recently completed a full condo remodeling project for us and we are delighted with the results! In addition to the complete kitchen and two bathrooms remodel, Joseph and his crew installed new flooring throughout, replaced all doors and all light fixtures, installed new tankless water heater, repaired and painted drywalls and ceiling, etc. Our old condo was completely transformed and upgraded with the impeccable quality, increasing the value tremendously!Joseph is everything you want your contractor to be: organized, professional, responsive and always on time. Throughout the entire construction, Joseph was very quick to answer any of our questions and updated us on the progress every day. It was very important for us because we were out of state during the entire project. He is patient, knowledgeable and was there for us every step of the way. He gave us design and construction recommendations and all of them were spot on and without any pressure. The project was scheduled to take three months but Joseph finished it 3 weeks earlier. It was a great experience having him work on our condo. We are more than pleased with Focil Construction and recommend them with no reservations.Joseph, thank you very much again for your excellent work.

Major renovation, 2021
We contacted Focil Construction to restore our house due to water damage in our kitchen, living room, and family room. We found Joseph to be very patient, knowledgeable, and passionate about his work. He and his team met with us several times and recommended the idea of an open kitchen plan. After they showed us a 3D rendition of the new kitchen, we were quite enthused with the concept. It involved knocking of some walls, opening the kitchen to the family room and adding a large island. We decided to go with this plan and are incredibly pleased. It really looks awesome! The new kitchen is gorgeous, it has lots of cabinets and drawers and looks beautiful. It has been a pleasure working with Joseph and his team, we always felt we were in good hands. Joseph & Jerami are very thorough and came by our home almost every day to monitor the progress and make sure everything was done perfectly. Sally and Kristina are wonderful, they helped us pick out the cabinets, the countertop, the flooring etc. and updated us with what was going on.We highly recommend Focil Construction for any home remodeling job. They get a 5 star from us!
